Rev. Dwight Munn of First West will officiate. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Roger was born on March 23, 1920 and completed his earth's journey on December 7, 2014. He had a successful career in the civil service with the Department of Defense in the United States Air Force. He also served his country proudly during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Semmes enjoyed fishing, gardening, and refinishing furniture. During the last seven years he lived at St. Joseph's Nursing Home where he was active playing Bingo and Dominoes, participating in Special Olympics, and was crowned Sweetheart King for Valentine's Day. The family would like to thank St. Joseph's Nursing Home for providing such warm and comforting care. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne Louise Cushing of Monroe; six children: Elizabeth McJimsey, Charles Semmes, Deborah Love, Jeffery Semmes, Mary Jenkins, and Barbara Buckley; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and all four of his brothers. Pallbearers will be Charles Semmes, Jeff Semmes, Jeremy Jenkins, Marcus Reed, Thomas Semmes, and Matt Coker. We are thankful to God for all the years he was with us. The joy of his life was his family and encouraging others. His wonderful sense of humor will be truly missed.
