TAMASON LEODA SHACKELFORD


Funeral Services for Mrs. Tamson Leoda Shackelford, 104, of West Monroe, LA 
will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the chapel of 
Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Gordon "Skip" Dean and Gary 
Jacobsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West 
Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Shackelford was born on January 24, 1909 in Jefferson County, MS and died 
on February 4, 2013 in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of Highland Baptist 
Church and was very active in WMU. She loved sewing, and cooking. Mrs. 
Shackelford worked for Bancroft Bag before marriage. She is preceded in death 
by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Gilbert; her husband, L.J. Shackelford; two 
sisters, Annie Shackelford and Katie Leona Gilbert; and by two brothers, J.C. 
Gilbert and Thomas Jefferson Gilbert.

Survivors include her son, James Shackelford and wife, Ernie; 3 step 
grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren 
and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Miley, Billy Battaglia, W. E. Martin, Keith 
Hammonds, Don Meador and Billy Martin.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 6, 
2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the Gideon's International.

Mrs. Shackelford's family would like to give a special thank you to Connie 
Culpepper, Betty Kennedy and the staff at Stoneybrook Alzheimer's Care 
Assisted Living and the staff of Louisiana Hospice Care for the exceptional 
care they have given during her illness.
