Jerry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Shivers was born November 26, 1916 in Winnsboro to Joseph Octavius and Clara Elizabeth Chisholm Covington and passed from this life on September 18, 2014 at Plantation Manor Nursing Center in Winnsboro. Mrs. Shivers was a member of Lone Pine Baptist Church. She retired from the Winnsboro Garment Plant, having worked there for 25 years. She had a passion for the outdoors. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, camping and fishing. She was also an accomplished quilter. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Preston Shivers, and son Leamon Shivers. Survivors include three daughters: Ann Smith of Swampers, Lea Cassidy of Phoenix, AR, Ouida Eckard of Winnsboro and Darlene Shipley of Chase; one son James Roy Shivers of Delhi; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Glynn Day, Tim Irby, Buddy Jennings, Paul Ramage, Joe Rodriguez, Brandon Wall and Greg Wallace.
