Kilpatrick Funeral Homes West Monroe, LA Funeral services for James "Jim" Sievers Sr., 70, of Plano, TX will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA. Rev. J. Roddy Taylor will officiate, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home-West Monroe. We were blessed with Jim Sievers on August 9, 1938 and the Lord called him home on December 25, 2008. He was born and raised in Valparaiso, IN graduated from Indiana University in 1960 and earned his MBA from Case Western Reserve. Jim settled in Monroe in 1968, starting his family in 1973. He was a member of the Power Squadron for over 20 years. Jim was a self-employed distributor who worked with Bancroft Bag and Shipping Systems for over 30 years and was always one of their best producers. Jim was an honest, hard-working man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. He loved being outdoors, relaxing at his lake houses and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jim was a unique individual who made a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with and will be well remembered. He will be dearly missed by all those who love him. Jim is survived by his daughter, Sandra Cook; son, James Sievers Jr. and wife Laquetta; sister, Shirley Roth and husband Chuck; brother, William "Bill" Sievers and wife Janet; three grandchildren, Amanda Cook, Connor Cook and James Sievers III; mother of children, Lois Sievers; several nieces and nephews.
