Rev. Robert Wagner and Rev. Bruce Rollins will officiate. Interment will follow at Douglas Cemetery , Choudrant, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.William David Simpson was born January 30, 1954 to the union of Lawrence William Simpson and Ollie Mae Gullett Simpson. He passed from this life on Monday, September 1, 2014 after a 6 ˝ month battle with cancer. He was 60 years old and loved his family very much. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Ollie Simpson, two sisters Ruth Juanita Heckford and Nancy Ann Murphy, one brother Bobby Linnord Garrett, mother-in-law Erna McCoy and father-in-law William "Gus" Hair and several nieces and nephews. David was a member of White's Ferry Road Church of Christ, he loved His Savior Jesus Christ and is now in his home up above. A painter by trade and owned his own business American Painting for several years. He worked for several paint contractors in the community during his career. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Patricia "Pat" Faye Hair Simpson. They were married September 17, 1972 in West Monroe, 4 sons, William David Simpson, Jr. , Michael Shane Simpson and fiancé Haley Williams, Christopher Lyn Simpson and spouse Tara Slaton, Bobby Lawrence Simpson and Rachel Fischer; ten grandchildren; David Lawrence and fiancé Alanna Lawson, Savannah Nicole, Dominic Lyn, Tyler Sean, Emma Aline, Kathleen Faye "Katie" Abigail Ruth "Abbi", Gabrielle Lee "Gabbi", Maggie Grace and Drake Allen Simpson; one great-grandson, Branson David Simpson; sister, Mary Louise Lee and husband Milton of Calhoun, LA and sisters-in-law, Ruby Garrett of Eros, LA, Lanette White of Arcadia, Cindy Patino of FL, Janice Lee of NC; brothers-in-law, Virgil Hair and Wilfred McCloy of West Monroe; special adopted children; Jamie McKnight, Tammy and David Guynn, Don and Tommie Berry and Kevin Steward and Ashley Aikens; special cousins-in- law, Polly Davidson of Meadville, MS, Robert and Nona Meacham of Pelahatchie, MS; aunts, Dorothy Beasley of Meadville, MS and Ann Foshee of Bossier City, special friends, Malcolm Williams and Ray Maza; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Brian Lee, Jason Huneycutt, Kevin Steward, Troy Foster, Mike Garrett and Bobby Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Berry, Ray Maza, his grandsons and great- grandsons.
