SIMS Graveside services for A. D. Sims, Jr. will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 10:0 10:00 A.M. at Weldon Cemetery, Bernice, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Fune Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation is Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 5:00PM unti until 7:00PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Sims was born on July 8, 1927 in Calhoun, LA and passed away on January 21, 20 2017 in West Monroe, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Ko Korean War. He was a retired owner of Sims & Oaks Electric and was a longtime me member and deacon at Claiborne Baptist Church. For many years he was the Scout Ma Master of Boy Scout Troop 447 of West Monroe. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by hi his wife, Ann, in April 2011; his parents, A.D. Sims, Sr. and Janie Moore Sims an and sister, Dorothy Oaks. Mr. Sims is survived by his son, Tim Sims and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Luke Sims and Sara and husband, Luke Johnston; great-grandson, Jase Johnston; brother-in-law, Emerson Oaks and wife, Lainie; nephew, Butch Oaks and wife, Becky.
