SIDNEY BROWN SIMS, JR. 

Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. 

Funeral services for Sidney Brown Sims, Jr., 66, of Monroe, LA will be held at 
11:00 AM Monday, January 4, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will 
follow at McGaha Cemetery in Redwing, LA. Mr. Sims passed away Wednesday, 
December 30, 2009. He was an explosive bomb tech and he retired from the 
Monroe Police Department, Louisiana State Police, The State Department, and 
the SAIC Company. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Dee Strickland 
Lodge and past Master Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney 
Brown Sims, Sr. and Nell Jean Atnip Sims Caldwell. Survivors include his wife, 
Karen McGaha Sims; son, Christopher Brown Sims and wife Naomi Dawn Harper 
Sims; grand-daughter, Amelia Grace Brown Sims; one sister, Mary Jane Sims 
Troutt. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dee Strickland Lodge. 
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
