ORARE BEARDEN SKAINS

Funeral services for Mrs. Orare Bearden Skains, 96, will be held at 10:00 am 
Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Sardis Baptist Church in Farmerville with 
Pastors Bob Jackson & David Martin officiating. Burial will be in Sardis 
Cemetery near Farmerville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Skains, a homemaker, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, 
January 18, 2015. Orare was born May 10, 1918 to the union of Leonard "Len" and 
Daisy Bearden. She spent her entire life in Union Parish. She was a faithful 
member of Sardis Baptist Church for over 80 years until her health prevented 
her from attending.

Orare was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John O. Skains; son 
Taylor "Pug" Skains; a niece that was like a daughter, Ruth Albritton & husband 
Marvin; 5 sisters and 5 brothers.

Left to honor her memory are her sons, Bennie B. Skains & wife Nan, Danny 
Skains and wife Debbie; daughter-in-law, Maxine Skains of Farmerville. 10 
grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and 3 
great-great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and 
friends.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff at 
Arbor Lake Nursing Home & Bro. David Martin for the excellent care given during 
our Mother's final years.

Pallbearers will be Stan Bearden, Kim Skains, Ronnie Cole, Jimmy Cole, Tony 
Nolan, & Learnerd Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers are Stein Bearden, Emmett Bearden & Lester Bearden.

Visitation is 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Farrar Funeral Home.
