Charlie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Reppond Cemetery, near Dean, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Mrs. Slater, a homemaker, went to her heavenly home April 27, 2016. Mrs. Slater was a lifelong native of Linville and an active member of Marion Assembly of God Church serving as a pianist, organist, and church secretary. Having had a ceramic shop in Marion, Mrs. Slater loved to quilt, crochet and sew. She was a wonderful, loving mother who was always there for her family and was always there to help her community when needed. She was preceded in death by her husbands, P.B. Reppond and Donald Jack Slater; two daughters, Wanda Faye Reppond and Sandra Elizabeth Buddin. Left to cherish her memory is her three sons, Donald Jack Slater, Jr. & wife, Shelia of Brownwood, Tx., Thomas Reppond of Rocky Branch and Sam Slater of Marion; six daughters, Sybil Taylor of Marion, Marsha Collins of Marion, Liz Reppond of Hebert, Sue Phillips of Farmerville, Carolyn Crane & husband, Bill of Boise, Id., and Amy Chisolm & husband, Greg of Oak Harbor, Wa.; brother, Odelle Pilgreen of Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Ida Belle Albritton of Farmerville and Ruth Baker of Greenville, Tx.; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Vernon Ray, Richard Pilgreen, Kenny Pilgreen, Ricky Albritton, Noah Wilkes, Dakota Spells and David McLemore. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel. Online messages for the family may be left at farrarfuneralhomeonline.com.
