Mr. Sloan entered the gates of Heaven in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 9, 2013. In 1953, Marvin married the love of his life, Joyce Dell Evans and began his life-long journey of taking care of his family. Marvin started working for Safeway Grocery in Little Rock, AR, also in 1953, and retired from Safeway /Harvest Foods in 1991, after working in Arkansas and Louisiana. Family was very important to Marvin, and he was happiest when all of his family could be home for a visit. He and "Nonnie" would take the grandchildren camping or have them pile up at their house for the weekend. He built clubhouses and put together many toys in his lifetime as a dad and Paw. In his late years, he enjoyed driving the great grandchildren around in the golf cart. Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Sutah Sloan; and son-in-law, Randy Self.
