Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Smith, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was born July 13, 1918 and passed away October 14, 2008. She retired from Graphic Packaging, formally Manville Forest Products, in 1981 after 27 years of service. After retirement she filled her time as a volunteer auxiliary member of North Monroe Hospital. She was a faithful member of College Place Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Survivors include son, Myrick Donald Smith and wife Patty of Leesville, LA.; daughter, Glenda Smith Brown and husband Lloyd of Monroe, LA., two grandchildren, Laurie Millar and husband Justin of Monroe, and Scott Smith and wife Naomi of Dallas, TX.; and four great-grandchildren, Ellie Millar, Walker Millar, Emily Smith, and Ethan Smith. Pallbearers will be deacons of College Place Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Emile Barrow, Kami Worley, NP and their entire staff, St. Joseph's Assisted Living, and St. Joseph's Nursing Home for the loving care given to their mother.
