Wayne Smith, 66, of Winnsboro will be held 2:00 pm Monday July 29, 2013 at Victory Apostolic Church with Rev. Kenny Carpenter, Rev. Virgil Harris, Rev. Phil Lowry, Rev. Curtis Harris and Rev. David Poole officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00 - 9:00 pm Sunday July 28, 2013 at the church. Bro. Smith was born on June 10, 1947 in Winnsboro to Randolph and Martha Oneida Wollerson Smith and passed from this life on July 25, 2013 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his father and father-in-law Rev. Carl Elmore. Bro. Smith has been preaching the word of God for 41 years and been a pastor for 37 of those years; during the years of his ministry Bro. Smith touched many lives but during his illness of the last 19 months the number of lives that were touched by him is to great to number. He was loved and will be missed by many. Bro Smith is survived by his wife of 47 years Rita Elmore Smith; son Rev. David W. Smith, Jr. and wife Amy Acord Smith and children Cameron, Adriel and Chloe Smith; daughter Kristi Smith Rollins and husband Jeremy Rollins and Kasen, Loren and Morgan Rollins; mother Oneida Wollerson Smith; sisters Joy Smith Parks and husband Raymond; Marilyn Smith Reynolds and husband Mitch all of Winnsboro; Linda Smith of Alexandria; brother Mark Smith of Winnsboro; mother- in-law Pauline Elmore of Edmonton, KY; sister-in-law Beverly Lowry and husband Phil of Edmonton, KY; numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Pallbearers will be Wes Jolly, Kevin Lowry, Charles Nichols, Clay Nichols, Phillip Price and Kasen Rollins. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
