Her husband, David Smith; parents, Vince and Maggie Ray Tidwell; and five sisters, Daisy Neal, Dollie Smith, Mary Pilgreen, Mildred Walker, and Susie Lawrence preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Iva (Cookie) Collie; a son, David Lloyd Smith and wife Twyla; brother, I.H. Tidwell and wife Stephanie all of West Monroe, LA; five granddaughters, Deidre Avant and husband David, Daphne Turlington and husband Jet, Daisy Dunn and husband Michael, Claire Lynch and husband Bryan, and Sarah Smith; one grandson, Adam Smith and wife Janis; twelve great grandchildren, Rusti, Kari Beth and Maggie Avant, Kayleigh Turlington, Ava and Catherine Dunn, Celeste Dobbs, Gretchen and Samuel Lynch, Ella Smith, and Emma and Jacob Smith; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in West Monroe with Bro. "Tuck" Roberts and Bro. Charles Dupree officiating. Burial will follow in the New Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Any planned memorials may be made to New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Mrs. Smith's family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the entire staff of Ridgecrest for such excellent and compassionate care of Nana.
