MARY LEE STAMPER GARRETT SMITH

Graveside services for Mary Lee Stamper Garrett Smith, age 94, will be held 
at 10:30 a.m., Monday August 29 at Crossroads Cemetery, Grayson, Louisiana. 
Visitation will be at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, La., from 9:00 a.m. to 
10:00 a.m. prior to the service.Mrs. Smith was born in Caldwell Parish, 
Louisiana, on January 1, 1922 to the union of Louis Mack Stamper and Bertie 
Gordon Stamper and died August 25, 2016 in Kilgore, Texas.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: George C. 
Garrett and Clarence E. Smith; her son, Donald C. Garrett; and her siblings: 
Andrew Stamper, Odessa May Alger, Ozro Stamper, J. V. Stamper, Frances 
McClary, twin sister Onie Mae Glasscock, Annie Gore, and Amos 
Stamper.Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Underwood of Kilgore, TX; 
her grandchildren: Jason Underwood and wife, Sheila of Plano, TX and great-
grandchildren: Owen and Everett; Jeff Underwood and wife, Jaime of 
Schaumburg, IL; Amy Marquardt and husband, Carl of Castroville, TX and 
great-grandchildren Carter, Brody, and Jake; stepdaughters: Evelyne Williams 
and Ernestine Wilson and their families; sister-in-law, Georgia Stamper; 
many nieces and nephews; and caring friend, Sam Tenpenny, Jr.
