Memorial services for Mr. John Albert Smith, Sr. of West Monroe, LA will be 10am S
10am Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with
B
with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 9am until time of servic
service at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born April 28, 1940 in Vicksburg, MS and passed from this life on
June
June 28, 2017 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 77.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Beverly Anita Causey Smith and hi
his parents, Howard and Mary Edwards.

Survivors include his children, Shelia Sanderson and husband John of Chatham, 
John Smith, Jr. and wife Lynn of Pell City, AL, Debbie Gilbert and husband Phil 
of Dallas, TX, Toni Clay and husband Randy of West Monroe, Brenda Deffner of 
Cypress, TX and Brent Smith and wife Wei of Memphis, TN; one sister, Dianne 
Edwards of Monroe; also survived by fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren
and a host of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to 
grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
