JOHN CHESTER SOIGNIER

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. John Chester Soignier, 85, of 
Bosco, LA 10:00AM Saturday , June 27, 2015 at the St. Paschal Catholic Church 
in West Monroe, LA with Father Dwight Dejesus, Father James Nellikunnel, and 
Father Frank Coens officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paschal Catholic 
Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

On June 26, 1953, Chester married Nellie Lee Johnson in West Monroe, LA. 
Shortly after they married, they moved to the farm in Bosco on Coco Bend Road 
and enjoyed sixty wonderful years together raising their eleven children. 
Chester loved God, his beloved wife and family, his country, attending Holy 
Mass, and farming cotton, cattle, and hogs. Dad's goals in life were sharing 
his faith; teaching his children the importance of a good work ethic and a good 
education. He was a charter member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Monroe, 
LA and currently a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Columbia, LA.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nellie Lee Johnson Soignier; 
daughter, Mary Ellen Stapleton; daughter-in-law, Derinda Neyland Soignier; 
grandsons, Michael Shane Soignier and Phillip Aaron Soignier; parents, Simon 
and Alice Soignier; and brother, John Paul Soignier.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-laws, Steve and Sherry Soignier, 
Michael and Priscilla Soignier, Bruce and Aida Soignier, Johnny and Jill 
Soignier, Dale Soignier, Sammy and Lurlinda Soignier, and Mark and Misty 
Soignier; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Billy Caperton, Janice and Tim 
Segars, and Dianne and Lane Beaird; son-in-law, Jimmie Stapleton; sisters, 
Sadie Purvis and Juanita Bryan;brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Betty 
Soignier; grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Dr. Adam Woodruff, Jason and 
wife Taylor Soignier, Corey Soignier, Adam Russell, Brian Russell, Clint 
Beaird, Kaitlyn Beaird, Grant Beaird, C.J. Soignier, Holly and husband T.J. 
Cranford, Dr. Heath and wife Dr. Catherine Soignier, Scott Andrew and wife 
Taryn Soignier, Benjamin Soignier, Amber Soignier, Tallie and husband Scott 
Sonnier, Luke Soignier, Christian Stapleton, Madison Stapleton, Faith 
Stapleton, Robyn Soignier, Tyler Soignier, John Ryan Soignier, Torey Soignier, 
Trinity Soignier, Angie and husband Sol Horst, Karen and husband Jason Hayes, 
and Kelli and husband J.D. Dunn; great-grandchildren, Gunner Scott, Nathaniel, 
Isaac, Ethan, Jewelianna, Ross, Jacques, Tyler, Trace, Treston, Cheyenne, 
Natalie, Caleb, Cameron, Jayen; his very special, Connor, Reese, Emory, and 
John Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Friday, June 26, 2015 at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with a Rosary at 7:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John's 
Catholic Church Building Fund, 7900 Highway 165, Columbia, LA 71418 or your 
favorite charity .
