Jeff Smart, Dr. Alan Miller, and Father Joseph Puthuppally officiating. Music will be provided by Jimmy Cloessner and Lynda Capps. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Speir was born on March 4, 1941. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 3, 2013. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Swartz, where she faithfully served the Lord. She served in many ministries in the church including G.A. and Acteen leader, nursery coordinator, youth Sunday School director, and the hospitality committee. She enjoyed her work at the Ouachita Parish Sheriff Department for 15 years. Sarah helped many brides and families coordinate weddings as she served as a wedding coordinator for many years. She had a heart of compassion and shared the love of Christ as she ministered at St. Francis Medical Center where she served as coordinator of the Pastoral Ministries Department and received the Liguori Lawton Humanitarian Award. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Pauline Wright. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, David R. Speir; her children, Sandy Miller and husband Alan, and Sonya Speir; grandchildren, Katie, Kelsie and James David Miller; sister, Glenda W. Bowne; special friend, Brenda Wade; loving sisters and brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers are Jimmy Cloessner, Carl Cloessner, Eugene Berry, Gary Kidd, Paul Fontenot, Ronnie Cole, Ken Cole, and Tim Oglesbee. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, Louisiana. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John Hull, Dr. Emile Barrow, Dr. William Matthews, Dr. Byron Henry, Dr. Richard Fincher, and their staffs. Also, a special thanks to the staff of Avalon Place, Synergy Home Health, Lincare, and the nurses in CCU at St. Francis Medical Center.
