Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Jeff Spence died suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Jeff was born and raised in Fairbanks. He attended Fairbanks Elementary and graduated from O.P.H.S. He played American Legion Baseball. The White Sox offered him a position but he chose to stay with his family. He loved going to the deer camp, gardening with his brothers, and spending time with his brothers and friends. He was a lineman for the city of Monroe as well as worked construction and retired from Primos Production. You could see him daily with his brother Tush riding around visiting with friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Jeff Spence was preceded in death by his parents, Huel and Cecil Spence; and brother, Dale Spence. Survivors include his wife, Betty Spence; daughters, Cindy Mays and husband James, Tracy Dunham; grandchildren, Chad Pruitt, Jacob Pruitt, Nathan Pruitt, Jeremy Mays, Jeffrey Mays, Brandy Bordelon, Ashley Pruitt; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Susan Savage and husband Stacey, Phyllis Temple and husband Billy Joe, Carrie Nell Windle and husband Bob; brothers, Keith Spence and wife Cheryl, John Michael (B.B.) Spence and wife Kaye, David Lee (Tush) Spence; sister-in-law, Sandy Spence; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chad Pruitt, Jacob Pruitt, Nathan Pruitt, Jeremy Mays, Jeffrey Mays, and Colby Spence. Honorary pallbearers will be Sal Pitarro, Steve Lenard, George Smelser, Larry Jones, and Lynn Vestal. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the funeral home.
