Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery of Homer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Mrs. Spillers was born September 22, 1937 in Monroe, LA to Hampton B. and Mary Lee Saxon. She entered into rest Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Homer, LA. Mrs. Spillers was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all that knew her. Mrs. Spillers was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Yvonne Saxon Williams; a grandson, Zachary Spillers; and a granddaughter, April Ware. She is survived by her loving husband, George Wesley Spillers, Sr., for 62 years; 2 sons, George Wesley Spillers, Jr. and wife Karen, and James Anderson Spillers and wife Lisa; 2 daughters, Jenny Spillers Smith and husband Mike and Carol Spillers Coleman and husband Woody; 2 sisters, Dianne Saxon Henry and Joyce Saxon Snyder; 2 brothers, Larry Saxon and Roy Saxon; 9 grandchildren, Derek Smith, Seth Smith and wife Jessie, Marisa Young and husband Ryan, Susan Kelley and husband David, Wes Spillers and wife Lauren, Hunter Spillers, Kelly Spillers, Trace Coleman and Cody Spillers and wife Gabby; 11 great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jenna, Ella, Addison, Michael, Colt, Landry, Madyson, Rylee Merle, Charlotte and Phoenix; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her best friend, Billie Jean Spillers. Pallbearers will be Cody Spillers, Derek Smith, Seth Smith, Wes Spillers, Hunter Spillers and David Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be Trace Coleman, Ryan Young, Douglas Shaw and David Gandy. In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Spillers, her family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Homer, 406 West Main Street, Homer, LA 71040.
