Thursday, July 2, 2015 at McGuire United Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA with Ch. Colonel W. Scott Adams and Rev. Josh Milliron officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Thomas Michael Stadius was born on October 12, 1953 at Portsmouth Naval Base, Kittery, Maine. He died on June 27, 2015 after a hard-fought battle with mesothelioma. Tom was a graduate of Duncan Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, FL in 1971, and enlisted in the Air Force in 1973. Tom was a proud and quiet warrior. A "munitions troop," he was also a nuclear weapons specialist, a highly respected Non-Commissioned Officer, and served from August 1973 til 31 July 1994. He retired from Barksdale AFB with the rank of MSgt. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he graduated from Florida State University in 1997 with a BS in Management Information Systems. He was employed at CenturyLink since 1998. Tom is survived by his wife, Renee (Fisher) Stadius to whom he was married for 32 years. He is also survived by his son, Andy and his daughter, Hannah; parents, Harold and Lucille Stadius; sisters, Barbara Newberry and husband, Kent, Karen Garner and husband, Gary, and Mona Behning and husband, Eric; brothers, Frank Stadius, Richard Stadius and wife, Anne, and Jimmy Stadius and wife, Mary; 7 nephews, 7 nieces, 8 great nephews and 1 great niece. Pallbearers will be Frank Stadius, Richard Stadius, Jimmy Stadius, Kent Newberry, Nate Newberry, and Rex Sims. Honorary Pallbearers will be his co- workers at CenturyLink. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. A special thanks to Dr. Keith White, his staff and the staff of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Youth Mission Fund at McGuire Methodist Church, 2075 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291.
