L. (Jack) Stanley, 84, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at New Light Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Stanley was born December 1, 1927 in Rayville, LA and went to meet his family and friends in Heaven Sunday, July 22, 2012. He is not suffering with pain anymore. Jack was an MP during the cleanup of Germany and the moving of the Jews out of the concentration camps at the end of WWII and was a guard at the Nuremberg trials. He also served on the front lines in Korea as a sergeant and his whole outfit was killed except 6. He worked as a pipeliner and loved all of his co- workers. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Stanley, Sr. and Audrey Hardison Stanley his brothers, Red, Omen, and Larry Stanley; his sister, Elmita Lee; and father-in-law, Leo Trichell. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Trichell Stanley; brother, Dave Stanley, Jr.; daughters, Janie Ewing (Bob) of Jasper, TX, Sharon Tidwell (Cliff) of Rocky Branch, LA, Brenda Crawley (Floyd) of Spencer, LA; sons, Bobby Stanley (Kabrina) of Monroe and John Stanley (Stephanie) of Tyler, TX; mother-in-law, Ouida Trichell; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike and Brent Finley, Sammy Moore, Darrin Ragland, Keith Parker, and Louie Cribbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin and Johnny Trichell and Pat Young. Visitation will be will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Light Baptist Church, Prairie Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to New Light Baptist Church, 2477 Prairie Road, Monroe, LA 71202.
