STANLEY Peace is not an absence of conflict, but the presence of God. Bruce died unexpectedly Monday, April 22, 2013. He passed away here on Lake D'Arbonne Farmerville, LA. He resided in this area since his college days at Louisiana Tech. He was the General Mananger of Read Lumber in Farmerville, where he was a successful and beloved businessman. Bruce grew up in Baton Rouge, graduating from Broadmoor High School. He was an outstanding athlete. He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Bass and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stanley, and father, Mr. Robert Bruce Stanley, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Linda Bass Stanley Henderson, his twin sisters, Jeanne G. Trick and husband Eric, Joannie G. Hebert all of Baton, Rouge, LA; two sons, Will Stanley and Brody Stanley, two daughters, Cissy Stevenson and husband Jay and Morgan Stanley. Bruce's step-brothers and sister are Bob Henderson, Jr., Tareva Henderson, Rhonda H. Aga, and Duke Henderson. Bruce also had another 'brother and sister', Stanley and Judy Read his dearest and most faithful friends. Bruce was of Baptist Faith. He is survived by one uncle, R. C. Bass, Jr., and wife Dorothy; one aunt Jenny "Dee" Bass Laughlin; nieces and nephews, Kelly Hebert, Josh Hebert, and wife Melissa; Jacob Triche, Brock Triche, and wife Shay; and also six great nieces and nephews. Knowing Bruce was to love him, there will be countless friends mourning his death. There is one special friend that was in the family. She encouraged him, made him smile, and prayed with him and never gave up on him through the last few months of his life. He loved Debbie. There will be a visitation for Bruce on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 4 to 6 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, LA. Burial will be held in the Resthaven Cemetery in Baton Rouge, LA at a later date.
