Larry Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Statham was born June 21, 1918 in Hamlin, TX and passed away March 20, 2009 at Avalon Place. He was retired from Federal Civil Service. Mr. Statham was a member of Dee Strickland Masonic Lodge #45, Past Master of Paul M. Schneider Lodge in New Orleans, LA, 32nd degree member of Scottish Rite Free Masonry, S.J.U.S.A. Valley of Monroe Orient of Louisiana, Downtown Monroe Lions Club, Men's Bible Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church, Monroe, LA, Republican Party, NARFE (National Association Retired Federal Employees) where he was past State President and currently President Monroe Chapter. Mr. Statham was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Myrine Statham; brothers, Rufus, Raymond, and Cooper Statham; and baby sister, Faith Myrine Statham. Survivors include his wife, Emma Elizabeth Statham; nephews, Frederick Berna Cooper and Clifton Marvin Cooper; nieces Virginia Cooper Banks and Dorris Elizabeth Cooper; and brothers, Ottis Statham and wife Lucille of Start, LA, Roy Statham and wife Sarah of Chester, SC, Rodney Statham and wife Earline of Calhoun, LA, and C. W. Statham and wife Cynthia of Gilmer, TX; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Byron Atkins, Kary Bryce, Stephen Banks, Roddy (Trey) White, Berna Cooper, and Marvin Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men's Bible Class from First United Methodist Church, Loop Road, Monroe, LA. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
