MARY CYNTHIA HART STATHAM

Graveside services for Mary Cynthia Hart Statham, 86, of Gilmer, will be held at 
3:00 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe, Louisiana 
with Pastor Rory Chance officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm prior to 
the service. Arrangements are under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home.

Cynthia was born February 24, 1938, in Monroe, Louisiana to Otis Duke Hart Sr. 
and Mary Elizabeth Jones Hart and passed from this life on April 1, 2024, in 
Gilmer, Texas.

On August 31, 1956, in Monroe, Louisiana, she married Carl Wilburn Statham and 
together they shared 56 years. Cynthia worked as a church secretary for many 
years before her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Gilmer.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diane S. Allbritton, and 
Denise S. Buller (David); son, Carl Duke Statham, (Merritt); brother, Otis Duke 
Hart Jr. (Shirley); grandchildren, Jeré Robinson (Stacy), Arthur Eleam (Kurlyn), 
Tyler Buller (Kati), Morgan Buller, and Jacob Albritton (Becca); and 11 great-
grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Carl Wilburn Statham 
in 2013.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jeré Robinson, Stacy Lafoon, Arthur 
Eleam, Kurlyn Eleam, Tyler Buller, Kati Buller, Morgan Buller, Jacob Allbritton, 
and Becca Allbritton.

Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren, Myron Eleam, Maurion Eleam, 
Marlon Eleam, Bricen Robinson, Mallory Eleam, Kaden Buller, Corbin Buller, 
Griffin Buller, Maddox Eleam, Cassidy Buller, and Cooper Allbritton.
