RUTH EVELYN STEELE

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Steele, 87, of West Monroe, will be 
held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 
with Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 
PM until the services.

Mrs. Steele was born August 31, 1926, in Monroe, LA and went to be with her 
Lord and Savior on July 10, 2014, in West Monroe, LA. She was a faithful 
Christian woman with strong religious beliefs. Mrs. Steele was a member of 
First Baptist Church West Monroe and a member of the church choir. She is 
preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Medria Cockrell; husband, Jack 
F. Steele; and sister, Laverne Cockrell Bounds.

Survivors include her sister, Virginia Cockrell Hundley; two sons, Ken Steele 
and Robert Steele and his wife Charlotte; five grandchildren, Collin Steele, 
Joshua Steele, Jarod Steele, Mitchell Steele, Madelyn Steele; two great-
grandchildren, Samuel Spero Steele and Eisley Steele; and numerous nieces, 
nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ridgecrest 
Community Care Center and Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
