Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until service time. Marjorie Ann Jones Steffins was born in Chicago, IL on March 8, 1927 and went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2016. Marjorie grew up in Quito, Ecuador, the daughter of Clarence and Katherine Jones, pioneers in missionary radio. She earned a nursing degree from Columbia University, New York City and returned to her home in Ecuador to work as a missionary nurse. While there, she met and fell in love with Marvin R. Steffins who was also working in Christian broadcasting. They married and served as missionaries in Costa Rica and Uruguay. Following their return to the states, they lived in California, Oregon, and Texas before moving to Monroe, LA in 1971. Over the course of those years, they had seven children and Marjorie devoted her life to being a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker. Mom will be remembered for her joyful and generous spirit and desire to serve others. She had the gifts of hospitality, encouragement, and unconditional love. She established a spiritual legacy of faithfulness and commitment to the Lord, to her husband of 60 years, and to her children and their families. GraMarjie, as her grandchildren affectionately knew her, tenderly loved each one and blessed their lives with playful fun, great cooking, and godly influence. She and Marvin partnered as prayer warriors; she loved to sing praise and worship with her family. Marjorie is preceded in death by her brother, Dick Jones; son, Marvin W. Steffins; and husband, Marvin R. Steffins. She is survived by six children, numerous grandchildren and a growing number of great grandchildren.
