He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of ULM (formerly NLU). "Buddy" is preceded in death by his daddy and mother Karl and Minnie Steinbeck and sisters, Virginia Hurley and Celeste Blackwell. Survivors include his wife, Ramona of West Monroe; one son, John of Monroe; one daughter, Margaret Chesney & husband Thomas of West Monroe; grandchildren, Harrison Steinbeck of Ruston and Jade Parks & husband Dustin of Powder Springs, GA; great-grandson, Weston Parks and his beloved dogs, Sasha, Maggie, Oscar and Prissy. He is further survived by his sister, Blythe Tripp of Clayton, CA; brother-in- law, Robert Kincade of West Monroe; special nephew, Charles Kincade & wife Mary of West Monroe; special niece, Shelley McCullin & husband Cregg of West Monroe and other nieces & nephews in North Carolina and California. Visitation will be from 4pm until 6pm Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. Private family graveside services will be at Hoods Mill Cemetery near Chatham, La. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation at www.Parkinson.org or Soldier's Best Friend at www.soldiersbestfriend.org.
