STRONG Funeral services for Marcus "Mac" Strong, Jr., 74 of Jennings, LA will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 5, 2014 beginning at 9:00 AM until the time of his funeral Service at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. Marcus "Mac" was born in Delhi, Louisiana on May 30, 1940 to the late Marcus Strong, Sr. and the late Floy Brantley Strong and was called to his Heavenly Father on June 3, 2014. "Mac", as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a graduate of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, where he obtained a Degree of Bachelor of Science. He was a highly trained Chemical and Ag expert in his field, where he earned the profound respect of his fellow employees, all of whom held him in high regard. An Agricultural teacher in Louisiana for many years, Mac was voted in as President of the Louisiana Agricultural Chemical Association, several times throughout his career. Mac is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Pat McFarlain Strong of Jennings, LA; his two sons, Marcus L. Strong of Camarillo, California and William "Bill" Strong of Jennings, LA; his two daughters, Tracy Dischler of Lake Charles, LA and Jody LaFleur (Blake) of Eunice, LA; his sister, Mickey Skinner of Minden, LA; Mac also leaves behind to cherish in his memories, his four loving grandchildren and one great grandchild. A heartfelt thank you to his beloved friend and sitter, Sandra Mann of Jennings for her tender loving care. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus, Sr. and Floy Strong; and one daughter, Sharon Strong.
