The visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 am at the Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel, Belzoni, MS, with a graveside service at 11 at Belzoni City Cemetery. Wayne Coleman will be officiating the service. Miss Margaret Sumrall left this world for her place in heaven on 10/27/2008. Miss Margaret was born in Belzoni, MS, October 22, 1909. She was preceded in death by her parents Neadom & Lena Sumrall, and her two brothers Joe Sumrall and James S. Sumrall. She was survived by her nephew Joe Sumrall and his wife Betty Schneider Sumrall, a great nephew Stephen Michael Sumrall and his wife Jennifer Green Sumrall, a great niece Michelle Rene Brister. Also five great, great nephews, Ryan, Ross, Chris, Zack & Alex, also one great, great niece Kaitlyn. Miss Margaret spent all of her life teaching. She spent over thirty years teaching in public schools in MS and LA, and her last 21 years before retiring as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at LA Tech University. She retired in 1976 in Ruston, LA where she lived for over 60 years. Miss Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ruston for over 50 years. She was also a member of the LA Retired Teacher Association, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Lincoln Parish Retired Teachers, Daughters of the American Revolution, First Families of Mississippi, Delta Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu Theata. Although Miss Margaret was born in Belzoni, MS she called Ruston home. She leaves many, many wonderful friends and associates in Ruston, and other parts of the U.S. For many years she was one of the LA Techsters Lady Basketball teams greatest fan. Miss Margaret will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
