A lifelong resident of Louisiana, he was the son of Mr. Mickey Hogue Sumrall of Ruston and Ms. Carolyn Jean Bolt of Shreveport. Steven graduated from Ruston High School, attended Louisiana Tech University and was an active entrepreneur in the regional petroleum and natural gas industry. A member of First Baptist Church of Ruston, he lived life one day at a time and enjoyed one moment at a time while spending it with his fiancé and family. Steven is survived by his fiance' Deana Norris and their children: Andy, Abby and Molly; his father and step-mother, Mr. Mickey and Carolyn Terrill Sumrall; his mother, Ms. Carolyn Jean Bolt; his siblings: Commander Mike Sumrall and wife Judy of Bartlett, TN; Mr. Timothy Sumrall of Lafayette, LA; Mr. Jason Sumrall of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and Mr. Matthew Sumrall and wife Krissy of San Jose, CA. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 27th at First Baptist Ruston located at 200 South Trenton Street with Pastor Chris Craig officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rays of Sonshine at P.O. Box 7299, Monroe, LA 71201 or online at www.raysofsonshine.org. Rays of Sonshine is a non-profit faith based organization, licensed by the state to deliver outpatient and inpatient care for those that are seeking recovery from substance abuse.
