Friday, August 4, 2006 at North Monroe Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. Rev. Warren Eckhart will be officiating with burial to follow at the Mer Rouge Cemetery in Mer Rouge, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Mrs. Sutton was born in Mer Rouge, LA on September 8, 1921 and passed away in Monroe, LA on July 31, 2006. After she and Mr. Sutton returned to Monroe from serving in the military, Mrs. Sutton served as the church hostess at College Place Baptist Church for many years. She was also the food service manager at Sherrouse Elementary School for 14 years beginning in 1964. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Butler; a brother, Carlos Ray Butler; a sister, Martha Harvey; and her husband, Mr. H.C. Sutton. She is survived by her three daughters: Billie Jean Smith and husband, Leslie of Charleston, SC; Bettie Marie Lockwood and husband, Charles Richard of Swartz, LA; and Denita Ann White and husband, Barry of West Monroe, LA; six siblings: Harry Butler of Elmer, LA; Henry Grady Butler of Mer Rouge, LA; Mae Hope Hester of Bastrop, LA; Effie Lou Denenea of Covington, LA; Jeptha Butler of Mer Rouge, LA; and Owen Butler of Mer Rouge, LA; Grandchildren: Tracy Lynn Smith of Jacksonville, FL; Slade Earl Smith of Lafayette, CA; Charles Richard Lockwood, Jr. and wife, Eva; William Edward Lockwood and wife, Teresa; Danny Earl Lockwood and wife, Laurie; Ronald Lynn Lockwood and wife, Roxanne; Larry Lee Lockwood all of Swartz, LA; Phillip Michael Inzina of Houston, TX; Rachel Allison Inzina of Monroe, LA; Hillary Laing Inzina Payne and husband Shean of Dallas, TX; three step granddaughters: Christy LeBlanc and husband, Jeff of Gulfport, MS; Jennifer Banks and husband, Kerry of Ruston, LA; and Maure Sternberg and husband, Michael of Mobile, AL; 10 Great Grandchildren, 7 Step Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sutton's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
