VIRGINIA SWEAZY

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Sweazy, 83, of Monroe, LA, formerly of 
Dallas, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in the chapel of 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Jim Ragsdale and 
Rev. Dan McClure officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park 
Cemetery.

Mrs. Sweazy finished her journey on this earth Friday, May 8, 2009, following 
a brief illness. As a young adult, Mrs. Sweazy and her husband, Bill, pastored 
a church in their native Kentucky before moving to Texas to attend Bible 
School. They resided in Dallas, TX until they moved to Monroe, LA a few years 
ago. Mrs. Sweazy was a retired employee of Standard Brands, Inc., where she 
was an executive assistant who was held in high regard by both administrators 
and peers. After enjoying her retirement for a season, Mrs. Sweazy began 
working for the Dallas Independent School District where she was a valued 
secretary and friend.

Mrs. Sweazy's life was centered around her family, her work, and her church, 
Hillview Terrace Assembly of God, where she was a faithful member for more 
than fifty years. She served there as a secretary and Sunday School teacher, 
as well as a volunteer in many other activities throughout the years. Since 
moving to Monroe, Mrs. Sweazy became a member of New Destiny Assembly of God 
Church (formerly known as Collegetown Assembly of God).

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Lee Sweazy; and brothers, Shorty 
Jamerson and Jim Jamerson.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, William "Bill" Sweazy; 
daughter, Sharon "Sherri" Sweazy Graves and husband, David "Dabo"; 
grandchildren, Lisa Graves, Michael Graves and wife Rebecca, Bryan Graves and 
wife Sherry, Kristy Miles, and Laura Blazier Hern; great grandchildren, Andrew 
Kiefer, Ava Graves, and Katelynn Bryant; sister, Mary "Skip" Weathers; 
brother, Eugene Jamerson; sisters-in-law, Buddy Jamerson and Margaret Hilbert; 
brother-in-law, Leroy Sweazy and wife Daphne; special friend, Nell (Nonnie) 
Russell ; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends located in 
Dallas, TX.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Graves, David "Dabo" Graves, Doug Sweazy, Jared 
Curtsinger, Bobby Henson, Randy Armstrong, and Gary Armstrong.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael Graves, Eugene Jamerson, Leroy Sweazy, Mickey 
Quillin, Joe Jaynes, Tom Pravy, Eddie Nelson, and Billy "Bubba" Henson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2009, at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
