She passed February 2, 2015 in Rayville, Louisiana. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00-8:00 pm at Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA. Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 at Alto Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Miller and Rev. David Shirley officiating. Myrtle was the daughter of the late Bart Tharpe and Lillie Olivo Tharpe. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jesse Takewell, son Russell Takewell, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also, by four brothers and four sisters. She leaves behind son Edward Takewell and wife Bonnie, son John Takewell, daughter Linda Kelley and husband Tommy, son Douglas Takewell and wife Lisa, brother John B. Tharpe. Myrtle also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren, and one on the way. Myrtle's passion was bingo, dominoes, puzzles, and playing cards. She also loved to fish. Pallbearers will be Jim McDade, Brent Takewell, Christopher Tyler, Aaron Roberson, Richard Roberts, and Seth McMillan.
