TANNER Funeral services for Mr. Louis "Jack" Tanner, Sr. of Monroe will be 1:00pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Ricky Baker and Rev. Jerry Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, La under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Tanner was born November 21, 1919 in Slagle, La and passed from this life on February 21, 2015 in Monroe, La at the age of 95 after a lengthy illness. He was a diesel mechanic, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Grace Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Tanner, Sr. and Annie West Tanner and one brother, W.L. Tanner, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ottomese Tanner of Monroe; two sons, Jack Tanner, Jr. & wife Wanda of Monroe, La and Ronnie Tanner & wife Sara of Mandeville, La; one daughter, Lisa Tanner Johnston of Monroe, La; eight grandchildren, Jason Tanner, Brenna Johnston, Brandon Johnston, Megan Tanner, Corinne Tanner, Scott Tanner, Mitch Charrier, Jr., and Kevin Charrier; three great-grandchildren, Eli Tanner, Paisley Tanner and Aiden Charrier; one sister, Evaline Thompson & husband Willard of Tuscaloosa, AL; and a host of extended family and friends. Pallbearers will be Mitch Charrier, Scott Tanner, Brandon Johnston, Jim Bonner, Jason Tanner, Brian Mathers and Buddy Frost. Honorary pallbearer will be Gus Alaniz, Junior Terral, Steve, Wayne, Brad, David and Jimmy Fleming. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Mr. Tanner's attentive caregivers; Dr. Robert Ewing, Dr. Ron Hammett and the entire staff of LTAC and hospice.
