ELSIE ALLEN MIDDLETON TANNER

Funeral services for Elsie Allen Middleton Tanner, 81, of Monroe, LA, will 
be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Lakeshore Baptist 
Church, Monroe, LA with Rev. William L. Smith officiating. Interment will 
follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn 
Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Tanner passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, at her home. She was 
born November 20, 1935, in Dubach, LA. She graduated from Bernice High 
School, in Bernice, LA, and attended Louisiana Tech. She was a dedicated 
wife, home-maker and mother. She was married to Travis Tanner for 60 years 
and a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church, Monroe, LA. Mrs. Tanner taught 
Sunday School in numerous Baptist churches for many years and was active in 
mission work. She loved to visit with friends and family. She loved to 
laugh, loved flowers, birds, and all things in nature.

Mrs. Tanner was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. R.B 
Middleton, Sr.; brothers, Tom Middleton, Rev. R.B. Middleton, Jr.; sisters, 
Mary Margaretsa Cannon and Nelda Thurmon; and daughter in law, Sundae 
Tanner.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Travis Tanner; children, Shauncey 
Wood and husband Robert, Roger Tanner, and Roanna Davis and husband Chris; 
sister, Ellen Tippit and husband Carroll; and sister in law, JoAnn 
Middleton; five grandchildren; six great grand-children; and numerous nieces 
and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Jason Keen, Brandon O'Neal, Robert Wood, 
Gary Jones, and Jason Lyde.

Visitation will be 9:00AM to 11:00AM, Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 
Lakeshore Baptist Church.
