TAYLOR Funeral services for Mark W. Taylor, 63, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe. Mark was a veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Navy aboard a destroyer in the Pacific. After the war, he attended LSU in Baton Rouge as well as Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. He was a small business owner for a number of years in the graphic arts, a talented artist as well as a copy editor for the News Star. His most recent position was working at Armstrong's Cricket Farm. He thought the world of all the employees at Armstrong's. Mark was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, his parents, sisters and brother, and grandson. Mark passed away doing what he loved the best, tennis. Tennis was his passion in addition to photography and the good news of having a brand new Grandson, Bodhi just a month ago. He was one of the founding members of the Forsythe Mixed Doubles League and was a committee member on this League. He will be watching from above with several pointers to all who play on this league from now on. Survivors include his wife, Mary Taylor; children, Katie Taylor Nelson and husband Sadao and Jack R. Taylor and partner Joe Eckler; parents, Jack and Pauline Taylor; grandson, Bodhi Taylor Nelson; sisters, Margo Pendarvis and husband Raymond, Jackie Perkins and husband Gary, Rhonda Konkle and husband Johnny; brother, Clay Taylor and wife Janice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of his Forsythe Tennis League: Joe King, Randy Morgan, Charles Bell, Bill Mesh, Paul Vingiello and Micah Touchet. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice .
