MARIAN SHIRLEY HEMPEL TAYLOR

Marian Shirley Hempel Taylor passed away December 19, 2016, at the age of 
83. Shirley graduated from Fort Necessity High School and attended Louisiana 
Tech University. She married Frank Carson Taylor in 1955, and lived most of 
her adult life in Monroe, LA. Shirley was a proud mother and homemaker and 
was known to share pecan pies at any event. She enjoyed bowling and 
delighted everyone with her amazing, but true, tales of Bouef Prairie 
country life. Many weekends were spent at the farm with loved ones. Shirley 
is survived by her husband, Frank Taylor; son, Wendell Carson Taylor of 
Chicago, IL; daughter, Suzanne Taylor Lentz of Lakewood, IL; son in law, Tom 
Lentz; and grandchildren, Sam and Lauren Lentz. The family would like to 
extend their thanks to those who cared for Shirley in recent years at Leslie 
Lakes in Arcadia, LA. Memorials may be made to River Cities Humane Society 
for Cats at www.rivercitycats.org
