A private graveside service will follow at Riverside Burial Cemetery, officiated by Father Eudokimos Martin-Harding. Janie was born on February 18, 1915 to Pete and Stella Stathakis and passed away on August 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at 102 years of age. She lived a long, rich, and full life doing what she loved. Janie and her husband of 37 years, Gus Terzolas were two of the founders of the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Monroe, Louisiana. She stayed an active member and contributor for many years participating in fundraising, baking Greek pastries and volunteering countless hours. Many enjoyed her traditional gourmet Greek cooking/baking. She was a master seamstress who made her children and grandchildren's clothes, Neville Tigerettes and cheerleader uniforms, and extravagant evening wear. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and making gifts for others. We used to teasingly call her "J.B". (Janie Butter) because she loved real butter on everything and said the secret to her longevity was her daily cups of hot coffee. Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Terzolas, her sisters, Mary Fanos and Lena Tzvaras, and brothers, Louis, Bill, George, Nick and Sam Stathakis. She is survived by the following family members: her brother, Ted Stathakis, her daughter, Crissie Terzolas Bains; her son, Peter Terzolas and his wife, Amy; her grandchildren, Michael Bains, Susie and Peter Terzolas, Stephanie Terzolas Tanner and husband Charles; great grandchildren, Brittany Barnes and husband Zach, Brooklyn Cummings and husband Austin, Maeghan Terzolas, and Charlie and Alex Tanner; great great grandchildren, Cameron Barnes and Owen and Haevyn Cummings. The family would also like to thank Dr. David Barnes, Ascend Hospice and special caregivers: Joyce Reed, Darlissia Williams and Allyisia Wroten for their attentive and compassionate care. She was beloved by all who met her and will be missed dearly… Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road Monroe, LA File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/ouachita/obits/t/terzolas6484nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/lafiles/ File size: 3.0 Kb
