THATCHER Graveside services for Mr. June W. Thatcher will be held at 10:00 AM, July 6, 2017 at Hasley Cemetery. Dr. Mark Fenn will officiate under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Thatcher was born June 28, 1926 and passed away July 3, 2017 in Monroe. He served in the United States Navy on USS Phillip during World War II. Mr. Thatcher retired after 35 years with the United States Postal Service. He was a member of First West where he served as a deacon and helped with the Bus Ministry and The Nursing Home Ministry. One of his proudest moments was when he coached the West Monroe Dixie Youth Team to a World Series Title in 1958. Mr. Thatcher is preceded in death by his 2 wives, Mary Hundey Thatcher and Nelda Thatcher; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Mr. Thatcher is survived by his son, Steve Thatcher; daughter, Ruth Russell (Randy); step-children; Brenda Coleman (John), Stanley Brister, Jr. (Dorinda); Rhonda Davis (Jerry); grandson, Brian Russell (Jenay); step- grandchildren; Lori Marone (Guilherme), Todd Coleman, Jeremy Davis (Meredith), Kristen Arendsen, Jansen Hinton (Chris), Adam Brister (Dani), Melanie Eason (Joshua); numerous nieces , nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, great grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Brian Russell, Randy Russell, Justin Arendsen, Chris Hinton, Jeremy Davis, and Mike Smith. In lieu of flowers memorials may made to ARCO, P.O. Box 1462, Monroe, LA 71210.
