Darrell Tate and Dr. Eddie Wren officiating. Interment will follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Rayville, Louisiana. Elbert Dallas Thomason was born March 23, 1926 in Archibald, Louisiana to the late Floyd Arnold Thomason and Estelle Hill Thomason. He was a lifelong resident of Richland parish, a graduate of Rayville High School and North Louisiana University. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 until the end of War World II as a pharmacist mate and a corpsman assigned to the 5th Marine division stationed at Okinawa. After the War, Mr. Dallas returned to Rayville where he was a successful farmer, rancher and businessman. He continued to serve his community as a Richland Parish School Board Member, Director of First Republic Bank, as well as a Director of the Federal Land Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wilton "Bubba" Thomason. Mr. Dallas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Jane Aycock Thomason, three sons; David Dallas Thomason and his wife Brenda, Charles Floyd Thomason and his wife Peggy, Lasley Downes Thomason and his wife LeAnn; six grandchildren; Lasley Downes Thomason, II, and his wife Nikki, Sarah Jo Thomason, Benjamin David Thomason and his wife Jennifer, Sarah Nicole Kilman and her husband Ben, Dallas Michelle Thomason and Victoria Lee Thomason; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Francis Thompson, Clifton L. Mills, Myrt T. Hales, Jr., James Arthur Brown, Jr., Lee Thomason, and Ben Thomason. Honorary Pallbearers will be the many members of his Men's III Sunday school class. Memorials may be made to Rayville United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church Rayville, or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Church.
