C. C. Milstead officiating. Burial will be Indian Village Cemetery, Calhoun. Mr. died November 16, 1997 in Haven Nursing Center, Columbia. He was a native of Indian Village and had been a resident of Columbia for the past 11 years. He was a member of Indian Village Church and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Thompson; his parents, Maybelle and William Herbert Thompson; a brother, Ray Thompson; and a sister, Blance Rout. Survivors include five sons: David Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Louis Thompson, all of Columbia, William Ray Thompson and Melvin Charles Thompson, both of California; a daughter, Mary Louise Swanson of California; one step-son: Odie Wilhite of Calhoun; two brothers: W. H. Thompson of Columbia, and James Thompson of Alabama; four sisters: Gloria Whitman of West Monroe, Lois Maza of Choudrant, Faye Graham and Betty Thompson, both of Monroe; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jared Thompson, Johnny Baugh, Jimmy Baugh, Odie Wilhite, Jeff Baugh, and Ron Brown.
