THOMPSON Memorial services for William Herbert Thompson, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. William, known to family and friends as "W.H." or "Doodle" was born to W. H. and Maybelle Thompson in West Monroe, LA on November 4, 1926, and was raised in Calhoun, LA. He passed away on May 19, 2014, in Monroe. W. H. served on the USS Missouri during his tour of duty in the Navy. He retired after 30 years of service with Exxon Mobil as a Master Draftsman. After his retirement he moved to Hebert, LA where he lived for 32 years. W. H. was a member of the Masonic Lodge all of his adult life. As a Mason, he taught in the Lodge for over 25 years and had the honor of serving as Grand Master numerous times. W. H. was preceded in death by his son, W. H. Thompson, III. He is survived by two sisters, Gloria and Faye; one daughter, Pat Thompson; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service (2:00 p.m.) at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
