STANLEY EARL THOMPSON

Funeral services for Stanley Earl Thompson will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, 
January 30, 2017 in the chapel of Oak Grove Baptist Church under the 
direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Rev. John Hankins will 
officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 
held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home, West Monroe.

An accomplished artist and writer, Stan was a graduate of West Monroe High 
School ('66) and NLU ('78.)

Stanley was born June 23, 1948 in Norfolk, VA to the late Lawrence Earl 
Thompson (USN-Ret) and Ruby Mardell Morehead. He is survived by his brother, 
Dale Thompson and sister, Phyllis Brode. He enjoyed being the fun-loving 
uncle to nieces Rachel Brode Huber, Sarah Brode Freeland, Rebekah Brode 
Landry and Emily Thompson. He also served as a personal hunting and fishing 
guide to nephew Ted Brode, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Theodore Brode, Jr., Wayne Murray, Kevin Fuller, Scotty 
Morehead, Wayne Frazier and Daniel Freeland.
