ELAINE THORNHILL

Funeral service for Mrs. Elaine Thornhill, 68, of Winnsboro, will be held at 
2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. 
Jimmy Harper and Rev. Marion Spence officiating. Internment will be held at 
Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Community 
Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA.

Mrs. Elaine, a retired high school educator of Richland Parish and Franklin 
Parish and a long time member of Temple Baptist Church, was born on July 25, 
1948, in Wisner, LA to the union of Joe Newman Farley and Fannie Elizabeth 
Calhoun Farley, and passed away on September 18, 2016, in West Monroe, LA. 
She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Farley, and husband, Leo 
Thornhill, Jr.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her mother, Fannie Farley of 
Wisner, LA; daughters, Sara Thornhill Haring and husband Tony of Winnsboro, 
LA, and Emily Thornhill of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Alexis and 
Addison Haring of Winnsboro, LA; sisters, JoAnn Dampier and husband Jerry of 
Sheridan, AR, and Elizabeth Cotten of Monroe, LA; sister in law, Susan 
Spence and husband Marion of Winnsboro, LA. She is also survived by a host 
of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers to honor Mrs. Elaine will be Howard Way, Marlin Valentine, 
Mitchell Valentine, Don Graham, Joey Westerburg, and David Shirley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews, Glen Dampier, John Jones, Brandon 
Spence, and Brian Rogers.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 
service time at the church.
