KEVIN RAYBURN THORNTON

Kevin Rayburn Thornton, 56, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Thursday, June 
13, 2013 at OLOL Regional Medical Center. He was an employee of Performance 
Contractors. Visitation will be at the Zachary First Baptist Church on Friday, 
June 14, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and then on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 
9:00am until services at 10:00am, conducted by Dr. Reggie Bridges and Dr. Wayne 
Barnes. Burial will be in the Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jorenda Smith Thornton; one daughter, 
Heather DeAnne Thornton and her husband Brandon Young of Baton Rouge; one son, 
Kenneth Ryan Thornton and his wife Sandy of Cincinnati, OH; and two 
grandchildren, Kieran Robert Thornton and Garrett Rayburn Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brent Rayburn Thornton; his father, David 
Rayburn Thorton; his mother, Laura Dozier Thornton; paternal grandparents James 
Ray and Cynthia Thornton and maternal grandparents, Sam and Lela Dozier. 
Pallbearers will be Tim Martin, Johnny Fife, Jimmy Burdette, Mark Fritchie, Sam 
Johnson, and David Henagan. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Russell and 
Richard Hanna. He was a graduate of NLU, a deacon and member of the Zachary 
First Baptist Church and an LSU Fan. Friends wishing to make memorial donations 
may make them to the Zachary First Baptist Church Building Fund or the LSU Band 
Donation fund at www.lsutaf.org/TigerBandHall.
