ALMA JEAN MASSEY THORNTON

Funeral services for Alma Jean Massey Thornton will be held at 2:00 PM, 
Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe. Rev. 
Eddy Shoemaker will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 
Chatham, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe.

Alma was born January 20, 1945 in Jonesboro, LA and passed away June 15, 2016 
in West Monroe, LA. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Chatham, LA. 
Alma was retired from Central American Life Insurance Company. She was preceded 
in death by her husband, Danny Thornton; parents, Herman and Lera Massey; 
sister, Linda Wheelis.

Alma is survived by her daughters; Kim Jordan and husband Jolly, Angela Trim 
and husband Ron, and Melinda Stamper; son, Bobby Joe Stamper, Jr. and wife 
Rebecca; sister, Lola Smith and husband Sherwood; 2 brothers, Terry Massey and 
wife Thelma, and William Massey and wife Genelle; 15 grandchildren and numerous 
great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe.
