She was surrounded by her family in her home in Monroe, Louisiana. Carolyn was born July 27, 1938 in Fountain Hill, Arkansas to Reese Stanley and Margaret DuBose. She has one brother, Dr. Keith Stanley of Edmond, Oklahoma. She graduated from Crossett High School in 1956 where she was a senior maid of the homecoming court, a member of the cheer squad, sang in the glee club, and participated in the Business Key Club. She was voted the School's Termite Queen her Senior Year and deservingly so for her beauty, kindness, and popularity. Carolyn was very outgoing and giving, never meeting a stranger in her walk through life. She was named Mrs. Ashley County in 1955. In 1972, she married Monte Thrailkill at Highland Baptist Church in Monroe. They spent the next 43 years raising their family and loving one another. As a teenager she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Carolyn was an active member of all churches she attended throughout her life, presently North Monroe Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and anyone who knew her could see His light shine in her. She is survived by her husband, Monte Thrailkill of Monroe, LA; two sons, Baba Pearah & wife Daisy of Mansfield, LA and Todd Pearah & wife Emily of Malakoff, TX; three daughters, Temi Newton & husband Ben of Hot Springs, AR, Kemi Irwin of Hot Springs AR and Toni McCarty & husband Mickey of Monroe, LA; one step- daughter, Kim Thrailkill of Oconomowoc, WI; 14 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; her mother, Margaret DuBose of Hamburg, AR; one brother, Dr. Keith Stanley & wife Terri of Edmond, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Reese Stanley and her step-father, Bobby "Pop" DuBose. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home with Rev. Kurk Auger and Rev. Johnny Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 19 at Mulhearn Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brock Pearah, Kelby Pearah, Nick Newton, Douglas McCarty, William Carol George, and Roger Kennison.
