She was 77 and a native of Sicily Island. Visitation is at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Thursday, November 6, from 4:00 PM until 800 PM, and Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the religious service at 11:00 AM. Services will be conducted by Rev David Bricker of Ingleside Methodist Church with interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Anne Heaton and husband Louis: a son Michael Thurman: two grandchildren, Michael Louis Heaton and Sarah Ann Thurman; and great grandchild, Silas Elliot Gleason. Preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Girard "Dinky" Thurman; and parents, Earl and Bea Denham. She was a charter member of the Harrisburg chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma organization. She was an officer of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and a member of the board of directors of the MaMains Children's Developmental Center; she was a volunteer at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center with eight years in critical care waiting.
