TIBBETS Paul Warfield Tibbets III was born November 19, 1940 in Columbus, Georgia and he passed away peacefully at the Stoneybrook Memory Care Home in West Monroe, Louisiana, on October 20, 2016 following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Graveside services for Mr. Tibbets will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24th, at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, Louisiana with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time for services on October 24th at the Serenity Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in West Monroe. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana. Mr. Tibbets is preceded in death by his father, Brig Gen Paul Warfield Tibbets, Jr., his mother, Lucy Wingate Tibbets, and a brother, Gene Tibbets. Paul was a graduate of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama and also Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama where he earned his Pharm D. Paul was a retired director of Pharmacy having served at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, Alabama, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina. Mr. Tibbets was also a retired Colonel in the Army Reserves. Paul held a great love and adoration for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed by his family. Mr. Tibbets is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Sharon Wagnon Tibbets of West Monroe, Louisiana, his son, Brig Gen Paul Warfield Tibbets IV and his wife, Angelle of Whiteman A.F.B., Missouri, two daughters, Cynthia Tibbets Parker and her husband, Dr. Thomas G. Parker of West Monroe, Louisiana and Stacey Tibbets Spitale of Morgan City, Louisiana. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Avery Tibbets, Paul Warfield Tibbets V, Andrew Parker, Jack Parker, Cole Parker, Ella Kate Parker, Sam Parker, Sammy Spitale, and Nicolas Spitale. The family of Mr. Tibbets extends our sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Stoneybrook Memory Care for the care and compassion shared with our husband, father, and family during his illness.
