TINDALL Dr. Monte B Tindall, 80, of Longwood Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6 2016. He was a proud resident of Monroe, LA for 37 years before retiring to central Florida to be near family. Dr. Tindall was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and was the only child of Maxwell and Marthelle Tindall. He graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry and then entered the United States Air Force, serving his country from 1960 to 1963 at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. In 1969, after 6 years in a successful private dental practice, Dr. Tindall was accepted into the Oral Surgery Fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans and moved to Monroe for his final year of residency at EA Conway Hospital. Upon completion of his training in 1972, Dr. Tindall undertook a long and distinguished career as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with Oral Surgery Associates until his retirement in 2007. As a medical staff member at St. Francis Medical Center and Glenwood Regional Medical Center, he was fondly known to staff and patients as "Dr. T". He immensely enjoyed meeting people and felt it was a privilege to serve his patients. An ardent supporter of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and the Monroe Police Department, Dr. Tindall counted many officers as personal friends. As a lifelong Seventh Day Adventist, Dr. Tindall, or Monte, as his church family called him, was dedicated in his support of the Westlakes SDA church where he served in many different roles. Monte was a devoted family man and loved being with his "girls"- wife Yvonne (married 57 years) and daughters Tresa and Lori. In later years, Monte fought bravely against the battle of Alzheimer's. In a final gracious gift to the medical research field, Monte applied to and donated his brain to the Brain Bank Research Program in Orlando, FL in hope that it will progress the research in the treatment against Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. To honor and remember Monte, a Celebration of Life service will be held May 22, 2016 at Village on the Green in Longwood, Florida.
